The Trailer: Uncharted: Golden Abyss

Nathan Drake goes portable.

If you’re looking for a killer app for your next portable, it’s probably a good idea to bring a hit series from your console over to that platform. Sony is aiming to do this with the Vita, and one of their big launch titles is Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Helmed by Bend Studio, Nathan Drake’s latest journey is actually a prequel to the rest of the series. Drake teams up with Jason Dante and Marisa Chase to track down a golden treasure. What would an Uncharted adventure be without a treasure hunt? The iconic gameplay is back and looking remarkably familiar to that of the console games. Having two thumbsticks is probably helpful for that as well. Check out Nathan Drake doing what he does best, gun fights, adventure, treasure hunting, and wooing women.

Bend Studio seems to be doing a hell of a job hammering out a quality title that fits well with Naughty Dog’s heavy hitting console series. Here’s hoping that the final product feels just as good on the Vita. Golden Abyss should be hitting the Vita around the launch window, which for us here in the states looks to be sometime early 2012.
