The war rages on.
The next and final chapter of the Gears of War saga hits the Xbox 360 in less than a month, which means we’re in the home stretch for getting pumped up to shred some Locusts again. The opening sequence of the game has already been shown off, and bits of information have been leaking about the story as well. Additionally, it seems like all the footage in all of the previous trailers have only actually depicted the first part of the game. This latest trailer goes back to what we’ve seen from trailers from the previous Gears games: a somber tune plays over the intense action as we see Marcus Fenix’s world change from beginning to end. The COGs fight against the Locusts and the Lambent as buildings crumble and water flows. Featuring Mazzy Star’s “Into Dust” it plays right into the set of trailers for Gears 1 and 2, with “Mad World” and “How it Ends”.
This is actually the type of trailer I’ve been waiting for considering what we’ve seen for the previous two games. The War Pigs trailer was cool, but it just didn’t have the same feel as I expected from the Gears games, at least from the trailers anyway. Marcus and the rest of the COGs return to finish the fight on September 20th.
