There comes a point in everyone’s life when they need to just quit. It’s normally in a conversation.
There is something to be said about the art of conversational timing. When someone lands a fantastic joke, timing is essential. When someone makes a move to/from the dance floor to switch it up? Facilitated by great timing.
Knowing when to get out to preserve social standing or a lasting positive memory? A function of great timing.
This doesn’t mean “This is going great, I should bail out now!” The key is having the situational awareness to know that you can leave fellow conversationalists wanting more while moving on to the next group and broadening your sphere of influence, keeping you popular and positive.
