He likes it! Hey Mikey!
In the past few decades, video games have ascended from pure entertainment to an artform, and thatgamecompany’s Journey proves just how well the two words can mesh. Not only that, Journey has shown just how much gamers like it (well, PlayStation gamers anyway) by becoming the PSN’s fasting selling game. Congratulations thatgamecompany, you sure do know what you’re doing. As a thanks from TGC, they announced on the [PlayStation.Blog] that they will be releasing the soundtrack on April 10 on the PSN, so download that when you get a chance.
Alongside the announcement of the success of Journey, president Kellee Santiago announced that she was leaving the studio she helped build six years ago. She was quoted saying, ”After doing these three games, I think it was a really great opportunity for all of us to look at what we’ve learned and what I’ve taken from that experience, and go forth and take it into new arenas.” Here’s hoping that her next journey will be just as fruitful as this last one.
You know, sometimes it’s better to move on to something new after being a success three times in a row. Good luck to Santiago. I’m personally excited to see what thatgamecompany comes up with next, and what Santiago hopes to achieve in the way of shaping video games in the future.
