Are You Still Excited for The Avengers?

With a little more than a week to go, are you still looking forward to it?

The Avengers is probably one of the most hyped up superhero films ever next to Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight series, but has it been too hyped? Reviews of the movie have crossed the ocean and they are all saying it’s “spectacular” and “you’ll come out smiling” and stuff like that, but the over-exposure to The Avengers over the past few months has almost got me a little jaded. Just a little. Every week for quite awhile new clips from the movie have been posted on the web, a dozen TV spots go up, and there is still more and more news being released everyday. How is it that we haven’t pieced together the entire movie yet?

Is the over-exposure of The Avengers a bad thing? It seems like Disney is pushing this film a lot more than the previous Marvel films they have done (Thor and Captain America). In fact, they’ve done more advertising for The Avengers than they did for John Carter. I honestly don’t think the hype and advertising for The Avengers is a bad thing, just a little excessive. I still want to be surprised by how awesome the movie is, don’t you? And as a comparison, you don’t see Chris Nolan and Warner Bros. dropping tons of clips from The Dark Knight Rises…yet. But I guess we all know that movie is going to be awesome.

For all I know it could just be me considering I live in an Internet bubble comprised of a ridiculously high amount of geek content on a daily basis. What do you think?
