And much more.
Electronic Arts is already prepping for 2013, announcing new entries in their major franchises like FIFA, Medal of Honor, Need for Speed, and Dead Space. Rumor had been spreading about a forthcoming sequel to Dead Space 2, and weird ones about it potentially becoming a first-person shooter (please gaming gods no), but EA has now officially confirmed it…sort of. EA didn’t actually come out and say that this was Dead Space 3, and they have been known to put out other games in the franchise, such as the iPad Dead Space, and Extraction. Looks like we’ll have to wait until E3 to get more details.
One thing we won’t have to wait until 2013 for is a new Need for Speed title, which was just announced to be heading to consoles this fall. No details have been dropped about the official title, or what niche of the franchise it will sit in. Will it be a sequel to The Run? Another Hot Pursuit (please)? Or something entirely new? Place your bets ladies and gentlemen.
