The Trailer: Chinese Zodiac

Also known as that Jackie Chan Adventures movie.

There was quite a disturbance in the action movie community a few months back when everyone was concerned that Jackie Chan would be retiring from making action movies. I personally laughed in the face of those who believed this to be true, because come on, he’s Jackie Chan, he’s not going to stop what he does best because he loves it. And for one of the few times in my life, I got to say “I told you so.” What was Jackie’s response to the rumors? Come out with a new action movie of course, but not just any movie, we’re talking a live action Jackie Chan Adventures. Okay, not really, but it’s pretty damn close. All we need is some talismans and Uncle shouting “One more thing” and you’ve got your movie.

Beyond knowing that this film has something to do with four bronze heads of animals from the Chinese Zodiac, and that Jackie Chan is some sort of master thief (slash archaeologist?), I have no idea what this movie is actually about. There are 12 animals on the Chinese Zodiac, so why are there only four bronze heads? What’s going on Jackie? Tell us! I suppose we’ll have to wait until December 12 for more classic martial arts from Mr. Chan, for now you can watch Jackie Chan Adventures on Netflix to tide you over.
