It’s like a dysfunctional family reunion now.
John McClane has never really been portrayed as much of a family man (except for when we named him one of our top dads for Father’s Day last year). His relationship with his wife was on and off again, and the kids were always on the edge of the whole thing until his daughter was kidnapped. Now, in the fifth installment to the Die Hard franchise, A Good Day to Die Hard, John McClane Jr. will be in trouble, and dad is going to have to get him out of it.
One of the questions about this film was whether or not Lucy McClane would be returning, since she was kind of a major part of the last film, but reports were that it wasn’t going to happen. However, it appears that wasn’t true, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead has joined Bruce Willis for at least part of Die Hard 5. Check out shots from the set of an airport.

How big of a part is that? Well, it appears like she just might be dropping off her dad at the airport as he heads to Russia to save her brother from whatever McClane related mess he’s gotten himself into. Then again, looking at some of the license plates of other vehicles in the shot, she could be picking him up in Russia. Who knows. Either way, it’s nice to see that the previous movie wasn’t entirely forgotten and that he’s still in touch with Lucy. I bet they’ll mention something about Justin Long’s character Matt.
