Equipped: +15 Knowledge (Art)

Dress your walls.

Fashion Fridays aren’t just about making yourself look good, it’s also about making your base of operations look good too. That’s why every once in a while we put together some fine art to grace those barren walls of yours. This Friday’s collection comes from Society6, and we’re showing you a poster from a few seperate genres: video games, TV, movies, comics, and a bit of abstract stuff. Look through and be sure to check out other art be these and other artists.

Video Games – Super Metroid

Near the top of the list for best Super Nintendo game of all time, as well as probably the list of best games of all time is Super Metroid (if you haven’t played it, do yourself a favor and fix that). In order to celebrate this entertainment achievement, Ian Wilding created this excellent movie-style poster for the SNES classic. Bloody fantastic is all I can say. Frame this and put it on your wall, for the love of the game or just the appreciation of this piece of work.

TV – Inspector Spacetime

Decent parodies are a great thing, especially parodies of cool things like Doctor Who. What makes all of that even cooler if it’s done on a fun TV show like Community, such as Inspector Spacetime as performed by Abed (Danny Pudi) and Troy (Donald Glover). That’s why this next piece from Sam Spratt is so cool because it combines both Community and Inspector Spacetime into one brilliantly rendered poster. The small splash of red is key.

Movies – People always ask me if I know Tyler Durden

If you don’t know who Tyler Durden is you should either move along now or go watch Fight Club. Putting Edward Norton across from Brad Pitt was brilliant and  Emiliano Morciano brings to life this duality of the main character in this piece. Which if you do decide to put on your wall you can’t mention it by name because you’re not allowed to talk about it.

10″ x 7″ – $17.98 @ [Society6]

Comics – Captain America

You and the Captain can make it happen. If what you’re trying to make happen is make your domicile look cool then yeah, he can do that. This splattered art piece is one of many from Melissa Smith that depict a wide selection of superheroes from the Avengers and a few DC villains (and some Pokemon too). Definitely check them out to pick the perfect one for your wall(s).

Abstract – Prophet

If you’ve for some reason not been watching Nickelodeon this past year, or cruising around deviantART, then you’ve missed out on the Legend of Korra. The sequel to Avatar is quite an awesome animated experience with a new avatar and all. As you obviously know, the Avatar must gain the power of all the elements in order to save the world, and this interesting take on that concept from Sachin Teng blends those elements with Korra herself. You would never know that this was based on a Nickelodeon cartoon.
