Peter Parker has a best friend for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
The casting for Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has made another leap, grabbing ahold of its new Harry Osborn. The role that was once filled by James Franco, will now be handed off to Dane DeHaan, who you might recognize as the main character from Chronicle. Webb announced it on his Twitter account yesterday, stating that DeHaan is taking the role of Osborn in the next piece “of the Spider-Man Trilogy”.
While I was in the minority for not liking Chronicle, Dane DeHaan wasn’t part of the problem, so he very well may fit this new trilogy. The casting is definitely becoming interesting, seeing as DeHaan joins newcomers Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane and Jamie Foxx as Electro. This whole new group, with Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, looks to be kicking things up for the sequel, which is a good thing since I thought The Amazing Spider-Man was lacking a little.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set for a May 2, 2014 release, so production will probably begin early next year, and so we can see how these new cast members fit in with the old.
